What you’ll do
As our Head of Global Car Offer, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects globally relating to our car product offer. With Volvo’s goal of being a 100% electric car brand by 2030 – you will play a pivotal role in helping define the content of these future products and work with the global commercial organisation and our car program teams to ensure the success of all our new and existing car products.
Creating electric car offerings which are both an appealing product offering in terms of content and capability for consumer, but can also be offered at price points which attract the appropriate volume of consumers AND can be manufactured at an acceptable level of cost relating to income is one of the key challenges facing the entire automotive industry today,  and in this role you will sit front and center in our efforts at Volvo to achieve this.
Leading a team of 12 Commercial product leads, you will ensure that all existing and future vehicle offerings retain a strong consumer centricity in terms of product content but also are well balanced in terms of their pricing and commercial equations.
You will work closely and on a continuous basis with all our commercial regions globally, as well as within our car program teams, and all other functional commercial teams (marketing, aftersales etc.)

Key day to day tasks and responsibilities are:
•    Leadership of team of 12 Commercial Product leads embedded within Volvo Car programs.
•    Act as the voice of the customer for all car product related questions within new car and model year programs
•    Responsible for all global commercial input on all car product development questions (powertrain set up, interior trim, single options etc.)
•    Ensure that the commercial equation for all vehicle programs holds together – including ensuring that balanced tradeoffs are made between content and cost.
•    Responsible for all commercial launch activities relating to new and existing cars.

What you ‘ll bring
As this is a senior leadership role within Volvo – you will be required to bring a wealth of experience in managing teams and people in a highly complex global matrix environment ideally with a focus on hardware product management and development. As a person you will be positively assertive, the with courage to drive change and challenge the status quo, as well as a strong bias for both customer and action. This role has a significant number of senior stakeholders which you will continuously interact with – so you should also be able to articulate examples how you have previously built trust and consensus in a similar environment.
You will be able to talk deeply on several products and features which you have been intimately involved in bringing from concept to market and articulate on any questions around their target market and the product developed to fit that market.
You may come from an existing automotive role, but alternatively have held roles outside of automotive but with a focus on product development (including any longer-term consulting roles where you have driven a product from concept to market)

Key skills and experience
1.    You will be highly opportunistic, and growth orientated. With proven experience identifying opportunities for growth
2.    Ability to build trust and consensus across large number of varied stakeholders including commercial leadership, industrial and engineering, sales regions.
3.    Soft skills: the ability and courage to drive change, manage complexity, stakeholder management, make complex decisions on often limited data.
4.    Strong proven experience in managing teams and people in a complex matrix global environment. Including experience in building high performance teams in a changing industry
5.    Product development and management experience: 
a.    Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a product development role
b.    Experience in identifying user needs and preferences and translating these to product features.
c.    Experience running competitor analysis and benchmarking as well as user testing/research.
6.    Project management and communication skills – including ability to work under tight deadlines on often complex questions
7.    Strong financial and commercial acumen, with ability to understand and input on complex business cases.
