We provide services for passengers, ramp and cargo for several of the world's leading airlines. The employee is the heart of our company and the key to our success. We are now looking for a Head of HR to join our Scandinavian leadership team. The role is based in Stockholm-Arlanda Airport and reports to the VP Scandinavia. The Head of HR Scandinavia is responsible for devising and delivering HR strategies to support achievement of business objectives, including all aspects of employee lifecycle management, human capital reporting and supporting the Scandinavian leadership in the implementation of best practice HR.


Main Duties & Accountability:
A particular early focus will be to drive HR initiatives to support the plan to transform the business, support it in meeting its objectives and develop the HR function into a true business partner from its current position.
Formulate a Scandinavian People Plan, ensuring that it is aligned to Operational strategies and the overall Menzies Human Resources strategy. Develop, lead and manage the Scandinavian HR team to deliver the Scandinavia business plan objectives
Contribute to the development and roll-out of global HR, programmes, initiatives and systems to the extent these impact Scandinavia.
Lead, motivate and develop teams to achieve agreed targets with a strong focus on collaboration, culture and people development.
Educate and influence the Scandinavian leadership team on the benefits of great HR business partnering by leading by example and developing the HR team to do the same.



Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrable track record in transforming and upskilling HR functions to deliver a true business partnering service is essential.
A strong HR generalist with solid Scandinavian labour law experience, including in employee/industrial relations (unions/collective bargaining/works council) matters and strategy.
Experience of countries outside Scandinavia is a definite advantage.
Both undergraduate and post graduate education is highly desirable, including professional HR qualification or equivalent.
Previous experience of the leadership of a business partnering HR function of a division of a large organisation is essential.
Previous experience at senior HR leadership level of a multi-site, geographically dispersed, 24/7 service industry with a large unionised workforce.
Proven ability to lead and develop HR plans in a dynamic commercial environment.
Value based leadership - the role holder must demonstrate and live the key values of Menzies; demonstrating authentic leadership and an ability to engage with colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels and within a range of markets and situations.
Works effectively with both team and or work group including those outside the formal span of control in the achievement of organisational goals. This is particularly critical in a global regional organisation.

Generates creative solutions to difficult situations business and organisational challenges. In particular can create imaginative solutions to launch a Global brand and/or products through third parties.
Commits to an action after developing alternative courses of action that are based on logical assumptions and factual information that take into consideration resources, constraints and organisational values.
Demonstrates a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action.
Demonstrates a broad-based view of issues, events and activities and a perception of their longer term impact or implications.
Understands technology landscape within the Human Resources arena.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, balanced with a high level of confidence to persuade and influence.
Commercially aware, a business leader with the influence and gravitas necessary to lead the HR function and the wider organisation to success and future growth, with bottom-line impact.
Hands-on approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across the region.
Experience of leading/overseeing the People aspects of start-ups and acquisitions.
Proven ability to successfully manage sensitive Human Resources situation and employment relations issues.
Proven experience of developing and implement pragmatic and innovative Human Resources solutions.
Experience of managing and adapting to the challenges of different cultures and geographic locations.

Working Hours: Full time
Duration: Permanent (with 6 months’ probation)
Start: as per agreement
