Head of Internal Communication within Kanthal

Kanthal, a division within Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT), is looking for an experienced communication manager, to develop and lead the internal communication work for the division. You would be a member of the division management team to secure internal communication, but also support management in communication towards external stakeholders such as investors.
Communication will get an even more important position since SMT has embarked on an exiting journey to explore the possibility of becoming its own listed company on Nasdaq Stockholm – no earlier than 2022, provided the right circumstances for the given time.

Your mission
In this position you are fully accountable to secure a Kanthal internal communication strategy that enables the execution of our business strategy. You make sure that the strategy comes alive through your tactical and operational planning, coordination and execution of communication activities. Your in-dept knowledge and analysis of the strategy and business needs are the foundation for a professional, consistent and purposeful communication. You will be responsible for:
Internal communication strategy
Support management communication towards external stakeholders, such as investors and coordinate media activities with the PR and IR manager for the business area
Plan and execute activities in yearly communication wheel (webinars, newsletters, words from the president etc.)
Provide communication capability into defined projects or initiatives
Manage the Kanthal intranet
Content production for the scope of the position
Support and train managers in communicative leadership
Representative in communication forums



In this role you partner with other functions such as HR in the area of employer branding and change management and Marketing where internal and marketing communications have strong dependencies.
It gives you the opportunity to work in several areas in the communication profession and influence the culture of communication in Kanthal.
Your profile
For you to be successful you have a university degree within Communication or equivalent. In addition to your education, you have 5-7 years’ work experience from a similar position. This includes a solid track record of planning and executing communication activities on a strategic, tactical, and operational level. If you in addition to this holds an eye for lay out and graphical form, are good at project communication and content creation, then you have true solid base to stand on. But it is your personality that make the difference; willingness to contribute, eager to learn, ability to structure and prioritize, take accountability and being friendly, but yet decisive is something we value.
This position will have international exposure, therefore working with different time zones and traveling can occur.
