Your mission
The Infrastructure group (a team of 5 to 10 members) is responsible for the Institute's entire IT infrastructure. The group's main activities involve managing server rooms, scientific data storage, virtualisation infrastructures, the network for the entire site, server security and telecommunications (telephony, email, etc.).
Your tasks
- Leading and managing the team
- Handling the group's budget, prioritizing projects and monitoring expenditure
- Proposing solutions and architectures to meet the ILL's needs in collaboration with the Head of the IT Service
- Participating in a DevOps transition (culture and tools)
- Creating, leading and monitoring the execution of various local and European projects
- Performing emergency technical maintenance
- Acting as a member of the EPN campus IT technical team
- Learning on your own about topics you may not be familiar with.
Your profile
- You have a Master's degree in Computer Science or any other relevant IT diploma
- You have a high level of technical expertise in Linux systems (mainly "Debian")
- You have a high level of technical expertise in system and network architectures
- You have at least 10 years' experience of working with complex system, network and storage architectures
- Even if it's not your thing, you are prepared to work with one or two Microsoft server environments
- You prefer VI to Emacs... or vice versa
- You have experience in team leadership and/or project management
- You are meticulous, proactive and open to new collaborations
- You enjoy coming up with innovative technical solutions
- You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French
