We accelerate the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous transport solutions, focusing on defined segments for the on- and off-road space. This is us, your new colleagues?
The Digital and IT team is a new and growing team at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. Our mission is to enable the digital side of V.A.S. to transform from an internal start-up to a scale up. We work with our customers and partners to enable digital business models. We facilitate the work inside V.A.S. to secure that we have the right tools for the job. And to succeed we fluently mix working with ambitious strategies as well as with hands on implementations.


Who are you?
As we don’t know you yet, we might not have everything right about your background. But when we imagine who you are we believe that you come from IT background with experience from the infrastructure area, and that you seek the adventure that comes with building a new business. As a foundation, you have a relevant University degree or equivalent professional experience. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves, proactively suggesting solutions, taking initiatives, and making proposals. You gladly embrace new challenges and responsibilities. You have a track record of building and running a global scale IT infrastructure environment with a mix of on-prem and cloud, with or without outsourcing partners.


Additional competences are:
Deep understanding of the ops part of DevOps and ability to coach development teams to learn also Ops
Good and hands-on experience from ITSM processes and tools
Vendor management for core and application infrastructure services (including WAN vendors)
Ability to mix building a team and to working with partners.
Good interpersonal and leadership skills: ability to effectively collaborate, network and interface with a wide variety of colleagues on different levels, across functions and geographies
You are curious, flexible, and inspired by change.
You like to motivate colleagues and teammates, earning their trust and confidence by your open-mindset, transparency, and professionalism
Good analytical and planning skills and proven capacity to execute against targets



What will you do?
You will build up V.A.S. team and capabilities around IT infrastructure supporting the needs in V.A.S., in tight collaboration with Volvo Group functions and our IT partners.


The IT infrastructure area covers the capabilities in the infrastructure part of the IT stack that V.A.S. needs to run our company with excellence. This includes client environments, data centers on prem as well as in the cloud, connectivity, HPC clusters for simulation capacity and much more. On top of that we will have local infrastructure in customer sites, sometimes with limited network connectivity.


Additional responsibilities are:
Define vision, strategy and roadmap aligned with needs from V.A.S. targeted segments and line organisations.
Plan and lead development activities (waterfall, agile or hybrid) for the infrastructure and digital workplace area
Manage operations of the core and application infrastructure
Manage interface with Group D&IT, GTT and V.A.S. IT partners
Accountable for cost, quality and security of the IT infrastructure



The location for this position is Gothenburg - Sweden. We offer possibilities for a flexible hybrid work model, but are not looking for candidates that are 100% remote.
