As the Volvo Group, we are accelerating to drive our industry forward also in these important areas. Do you want to join our journey and shape tomorrow’s society together with us?
Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of supporting the Volvo Group’s transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, circularity, complete service offer, profitable growth and resilience.
We are looking for:Head of Legal – Battery Value Chain
You will be given a unique opportunity to shape and drive the development of Volvo Energy’s Legal & Compliance function together with the rest of the Legal & Compliance team and we will work together with the executive leadership team and our other colleagues on solutions that will drive circularity, leading us to a sustainable future. With high speed and agility, Volvo Energy will support the Volvo Group to meet and exceed customers’ expectations on electrification, charging infrastructure solutions and second life batteries and thereby contribute to a society that we all want to live in.
Working at Volvo Energy is different
Welcome to a team unified by a compelling mission, great ideas, fun, diversity and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are - and will always be - the most important part of the story. Each colleague truly matters and plays an important role in our journey. Consequently, whilst demands are high, there is also plenty of opportunities to learn and grow - as a professional and as a person. We will be a fairly small team and therefore look for colleagues that thoroughly enjoy this entrepreneurial challenge, can hit the ground running and lead with passion, perform with purpose and transform with vision. Moreover, it will be essential you have a strong ability to form trustful relationships to effectively work with partners - inside and outside of the Volvo Group – in a cross-functional manner.
You will make a difference
As responsible for legal & compliance for the Battery Value Chain, you will be part of the Sales & Services management team, which will enable you to build your business acumen and proactively advise our colleagues in legal & compliance matters.
You will also work closely with colleagues within Digital & IT, Battery Technology, Logistics as well as Finance.
In this role, you will be part of strategic projects while also handling a wide variety of legal matters, including drafting and negotiating sales agreements, innovation and R&D related agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, data management agreements etc. You will also support our business with day-to-day compliance matters driven by business needs as well as our central Volvo Group Compliance function.
As we work as one legal team providing seamless support to our organization, you will get the opportunity to also work with matters relating to Charging & Infrastructure Solutions from time to time, which we hope is motivating and enables you to build your understanding of the entire electromobility value chain.
Making it a success for yourself and Volvo Energy
To succeed, we believe you are passionate, business-orientated, pragmatic, with a positive spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset. You also have high integrity and are used to negotiating and drafting commercial agreements. As we are a small legal & compliance team, it is of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable working independently and that you feel mandated to drive your areas of responsibilities.
We also believe that you have a strong ability to engage, lead and coach as this job is all about collaborations and leading the way in your field. For us, leading the way means that you should be a good listener, an effective communicator and that it is easy for you to connect with and engage other people.
You welcome this chance to work in a smart and modern way at a flexible workplace where we together are the catalysts to make our desired future happen. As our business area is new, you need to share our curiosity for new technologies, tools and ways-of-working and constantly want to take it to the next level. At the same time, you realize that breaking new ground also means mistakes will happen and nothing will be perfect. These are not frustrations but instead learning opportunities for you. You see the journey itself as the destination and whilst you are highly successful in your current position, you feel a strong desire to move further – you want to move from individual success to collective significance.
We can promise you great colleagues and some truly exciting opportunities. You will work in a global environment that is purpose-driven and value-based and that truly values diversity and inclusiveness. We will provide you with developmental prospects both professionally and personally. If our entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability and customer-focused mindset light your inner fire, we might be a great match!
