As Head of Legal Cluster CIS, you will have responsibility to provide leadership within the Legal function and acting as a member of the counties management team. You will be responsible for implementing the global strategy within the area of legal affairs. At the same time, you will provide professional advice on a broad range of legal and integrity issues the aim being to ensure full compliance with Group Regulations and local instructions as well as local statutory provisions.
With Cluster CIS is meant the following countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan.
Your responsibilities
Overall responsibility for all legal aspects of the Cluster CIS, including support and legal advice to the operating units and the country organizations in all domestic and international legal matters
Leadership of the Cluster Legal team, including leading, coaching, and developing direct and indirect reports with focus on providing business-oriented solutions, responsiveness, and high degree of responsibility, cross linked and coordinated thinking, personal growth and development, and continuous improvement of the legal operations
Corporate governance based on the Hitachi Energy governance framework, legal requirements, and best practices as well as internal control system and management of company records
Enforcement and protection of company interests – at country level and globally - in negotiations with third parties, in government proceedings and before courts and arbitral tribunals
Ensure compliance of laws and regulations and internal policies in various fields (in particular data privacy, antitrust law, bribery & corruption) as well as anticipating legal trends
Collaboration in global/regional project teams, with specialists of the global Hitachi Energy team as well as with legal colleagues of other country organizations globally
Management of external law firms, based on quality and budget targets
Training of Hitachi Energy employees in all legal and integrity aspects

Your background
You hold a university degree in Law and 10 years post qualification experience, with at least 8 years in business law firm or corporation
Qualification or experience in the Russian legal system
Legal generalist with experience in specific fields, such as integrity & compliance, data privacy, contracts, corporate/M&A/corporate governance, dispute resolution, antitrust
Openness and ability to collaborating interculturally and interdisciplinary with teams worldwide
Strong ability to communicate both in oral and written communication
Fluency in Russian and English
