As Head of Legal HQ, you will lead a team of top-of-the-line in-house lawyers who focus on realizing our aim to lead the global automotive industry in safety, technology, electrification and autonomous drive.

What you’ll do. You will be the leader of the lawyers in the Legal HQ team, and as such engage, coach, lead and develop the team. The team currently consists of eight experienced lawyers who work as trusted business advisors on strategically important projects, often with a global scope. The atmosphere in the team is positive and supportive, and conducted in a fast-paced environment where every day is different. You are actively engaged in driving the development of the Legal HQ team and with them, driving change throughout the business organisation. You report to Volvo Cars Deputy General Counsel and operate with a high level of autonomy.  

You will be the legal representative in relevant management teams, and also work closely with the Deputy General Counsel on matters of strategic importance for the group. You will be leading or supporting global matters, including contract drafting, negotiating with external parties and supervising external legal advisors, as well as providing hands-on legal and strategic support in Legal HQ matters such as general commercial matters including M&A activities, collaboration projects and related party matters within the Geely group. You will be involved in global initiatives relating to connected cars and our electrification efforts and also handle global legal claims reporting. You also drive and manage legal tech support initiatives in collaboration with the Global Legal team.

Who are you? We are looking for a true leader with the ability to create clarity and an open and trusting environment. You drive results with a structured approach and have a strong interest in people and in developing the legal team members as well as the team’s way of working.

You are a highly experienced business minded professional with a high degree of autonomy and several years of leadership experience. You have very well-developed communication and negotiation skills as well as a proven ability to drive and lead change and deliver improvements. You have extensive experience in handling complicated legal matters, and you are used to resolving matters where neither problems  nor solutions are defined. This role requires the highest possible level of integrity, accountability and commitment, combined with a highly proactive and customer and solution oriented approach.

You have a university degree within Law and experience from complex and international business environments. You are fluent in English, both verbal and written. It´s a bonus if you are interested in and comfortable with technology in the wider sense.
