Head of Market Risk to Nasdaq Clearing


Nasdaq Clearing is looking for a Head of Market Risk to join the Stockholm office. Nasdaq Clearing is part of Nasdaq Group and is Europes fourth largest clearing house. We are a multi-asset clearing house and we clear derivatives products for three different exchanges based on seven asset classes, in the equities, fixed income and commodities markets.


With this position we offer


As Head of Market Risk for Nasdaq Clearing, you will be at the heart of the clearinghouse where you will be responsible for a team of eight people located in Stockholm, Oslo and Vilnius. You will have a varied role ranging from leading the team, managing the market risk exposure for Nasdaq Clearing, contributing in the design of new products and processes as well as interacting with a wide range of clearing members and regulators. You will report to the Head of Clearing Risk and be part of the Clearing Risk Managements management team.


Your role and responsibilities


Drive the development and apply targeted strategies to ensure that the market risk exposure is actively managed and meets the requirements of various external & internal stakeholders.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monitoring of market risk exposure. Interpret the information and suggest actions for consideration to management, e.g. proposing adjustments to margin model parameters to ensure sufficient coverage
Respond to the Regulatory Authority and other significant stakeholder inquiries concerning Nasdaq Clearings risk management framework
Provide analysis and recommendations on market risk issues relating to Nasdaq Clearing's business development initiatives
Communication with clearing members on market risk issues


We expect you to have


University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or other relevant field
Solid experience within financial risk management
Solid knowledge of at least one of Nasdaq Clearings markets or a closely linked market
Experience in developing and implementing new frameworks
The ability to work under pressure and be able to manage multiple tasks at once
Strong problem solving skills where you demonstrate the ability to hypothesize, analyze and conceptualize
Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken to discuss and present to different internal and external stakeholders
Strong leadership skills to support and lead a distributed team
The ability to manage and build relationships with different stakeholders


It would be great if you have


Knowledge in central counterparty clearing
Fluency in Swedish
