Tickstar offers a suite of cloud based solutions, enabling customers to send and receive documents through the Peppol network - a secure eDelivery network that has been adopted by a number of leading economies around the world. Tickstar is now one of the most trusted providers globally, operating one in five access points on the Peppol network.
We were recently acquired by the global cloud accounting software company, Xero, who saw a beautiful connection between our purpose and their endeavour to help businesses thrive through better tools, information and connections. Together, we’re reducing administrative burden and making it easier for businesses around the world to transact and exchange documents across borders.
How you’ll make an impact
This is a unique opportunity to take on the management of the strategy and operations of a Xero subsidiary, define success, and deliver on it, with support from finance, legal, People Experience, product, platform and others.
As Head of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Tickstar business is operating effectively and efficiently as a Xero subsidiary. You will ensure that the Tickstar team is connected into the Xero organization appropriately and that Xero is realizing its ambitions for the Tickstar business.
You will ensure that key risks associated with the acquisition of the business are managed and defrayed where possible so that the business can continue to operate in perpetuity. You will work closely with members of the Xero product leadership team and the Tickstar team to set a strategic direction for the company to sustain platform revenue growth and will have substantial influence over the e-invoicing opportunity in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Europe, and other markets as they develop.
What you’ll do
Provide the ‘glue’ between the Tickstar organisation and the parent Xero organisation by maintaining an on the ground presence with the Tickstar team and being their voice, and Xero’s eyes and ears.
Work with Xero product leadership and Tickstar leadership to set a strategy for the Tickstar business that incorporates Xero’s broader strategic objectives while taking advantage of the opportunities that Tickstar provides.
Identify workforce and facility needs for the Tickstar team and under GM leadership, develop and implement a plan for growth.
Establish regular communication flows between Xero and Tickstar, reporting on overall business performance to the Xero organisation via the GM Product - Bills, in a means that is useful to the EGM of Product - Bills, the Chief Product Officer and other Xero business sponsors.
Understand the e-invoicing space well, both in regards to customer problems and also the technical challenges and opportunities in this space. You will support the GM Product - Bills in championing the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of these across the organisation.
Immerse yourself in the Tickstar business and understand and articulate its business model both at present and how it might evolve in the future, by gathering information on competing businesses and products and capitalizing on the unique capabilities of the Tickstar platform and team.
How you’ll do it
Strategy & Roadmap
You can develop a deep understanding of Tickstar’s mission and business strategy, and how you plan to execute on the vision and objectives of the business.
You are clear on the highest value outcomes that Tickstar can focus on from a business perspective and why. You have well formed views on the short, medium and long term opportunities, which is driven from customer research, customer engagement, experiments and product & user data. All individuals working on and around our business understand the key outcomes being driven and the associated horizons and timeframes. You will work with the Head of Product - Tickstar to define product deliverables and a roadmap for delivery.
You are able to balance technical requirements with customer value and articulate the collective value of all of these things to a broad audience, establishing buy in
The Xero organization has a clear understanding of Tickstar’s plans and progress.
Business Development
You will work with the business development team to ensure they have a pipeline of new opportunities that is tracked, measured and enhanced, so that they achieve their revenue targets.
You will understand customer requirements and communicate these back to the business in a way that can be built into the overall product strategy, without relying on short-term, tactical solutions.

Demonstrated experience in defining roadmaps and long term planning
Previous experience working at Xero, or with the Xero business is preferred.
