Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
The Volvo Cars Torslanda (VCT) plant is a part of the Global Manufacturing organization; a global network that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers with a firm focus on people and continuous development. The plant has an annual production capacity of 300,000 cars and is one of Volvo Cars’ longest-operating manufacturing facilities. Currently, the Torslanda plant operates on three shifts and employs around 6,500 people.
Volvo Cars is transforming towards becoming a top electric mobility brand by 2030. We are going fully electric, moving key technology development and production in-house, while moving online with full force, ensuring we live up to new consumer demands and always create value for our customers. Volvo Cars is investing heavily in the Torslanda plant in preparation for the production of the next generation of fully electric cars.
