As a person responsible for Environment at Volvo Cars Body Components, you coordinate and provide prerequisites for legal compliance as well as management of environmental performance. You also coordinate and follow-up actvities related to environmental impact such as use of energy and water, emissions to air, waste, etc.
You will be part of the local Plant Engineering department but are also closely linked to the global Environmental department within Manufacturing which makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. In our assembly and component plants all over the world, we work with lean, clean and flexible production technologies – with a firm focus on people and continuous development. You will be responsible for the environmental work within Volvo Cars Body Components in Olofström. Your work will be organized within our Plant Engineering department where both collaboration with other departments and colleagues as well as independency is important.
Main responsibilities
• Identify and interpret relevant environmental legislation,
• Coordinate environmental permits, monitoring programs, regulatory agency inspections,
• Develop procedures, targets and activities to improve environmental performance in the plant,
• In case of an environmental accident, coordinate necessary actions and reporting,
• Environmental data management and reporting,
• Environmental trainings,
• Communication with management teams as well as production teams, which is especially important in this challenging production environment,
• Participate in internal and external networks,
• Act proactively, search for possible issues within the plant and be able to get support from multiple stakeholders to find the most efficient solution.
Required qualifications
• University degree in environmental science or equivalent
• Environmental legislation and specific permits requirements
• Environmental management system according to ISO14001
• Experience from working within the environmental field
• Experience from manufacturing is meritorious
• Leadership skills and ability to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Driving license "B"
