Head of Procurement

ValueOne is looking for a Head of Procurement with strong Sourcing and managerial experience for a consultant assignment at a manufacturing company north of Stockholm. The assignment lasts for 9 months and starts in April.

The role  

As Head of Procurement you will be responsible for all strategic sourcing of direct material on a global level as well as operational sourcing responsibility for Europe. You will lead and coach a global team of eight employees and be an active member in the global operations leadership team. Furthermore, you should be ready to step in and support hands-on with challenges or prioritized projects if required.

Main tasks:

Coach and support the team.
Oversee the day to day purchasing operations to enable requested service level to customers.
Report, monitor and follow up on performance metrics to manage the supplier base and inventory effectively and efficiently.
Oversee sourcing responsibilities.
Drive the development and execution of sourcing category strategies with the purpose of improving the supplier base when it comes to quality and cost.
Drive process improvements within purchasing and sourcing.
Be process owner of the sourcing and purchasing process.
Be system owner of sourcing and purchasing tools and systems (not including ERP).

Experience and competencies  

The assignment as head of Procurement demands a substantial experience within Supply Chain with a background in Strategic sourcing and a university degree in Engineering, Finance or Law. A minimum of three years managerial experience within Sourcing in a manufacturing environment is required as well as proven project management skills to support individuals in the team to run cross functional projects. We expect you to have strong negotiation skills. Experience within direct materials categories such as electronics, plastic, pneumatics and/or machining etc. is preferred.

The role furthermore requires strong communication and collaboration skills. You are fluent in English, orally and written. Swedish is preferred. To be successful you need to be good at networking and building trust with stakeholders. As a leader you have a strategic and holistic mindset and ability to multi-task and drive initiatives. Additionally you have a structured mindset and good problem-solving capabilities.
