Head of Product Management Surface radar solutions

Your role

Are you our next Head of Product Management?

You will be a part of PU Surface Based Radar and its management team. You will report to the Head of Surface Radar Solutions.

As manager your will have an important role within the PU, including:

To be responsible for the product unit's product strategy to ensure alignment with business goals
*

Product portfolio management and profitability for all products including PLCM and Roadmap
*

Responsible for the short and long term profitability and main driver for product efficiency and to reach the set targets for product contribution
*

Roadmap for product release, technologies used and impact on our installed base
*

Actively participate in and to support Business development and bid work



All with the main purpose to secure efficient and timely product development, quality and customer satisfaction.

To help you fulfill these responsibilities you are supported by a team of senior product managers with a wide and deep understanding of the internal and external ecosystem.



Your profile

For this role, we are looking for someone who likes to develop and challenge themselves as well as its team members. To be successful in this position you need to have the ability to motivate and engage others but also be able to organize, prioritize and take decisions to improve performance and profitability.

Experience in Strategic-, Roadmap- and business development planning

Passion for innovation, both regarding technology and business models

Strong business understanding, customer focus and product development experience

Communicative, structured and performance driven ways of working

Genuine interest in complex technical product development and cooperation across sites

Lead the organization in company process for Product Life Cycle Management and regulations applicable

Focus on importance of building cross functional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.



What you will be a part of

Business Area Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and command and control solutions.



Business Unit Radar Solutions is a business unit within Surveillance and has around 1200 employees globally; Sweden, USA, Abu Dhabi and UK. Radar Solutions provides airborne, ground-based and naval radar solutions. The business unit has a strong presence in the global defense and security markets, a close relationship with customers and rewarding international collaborations.



Product Unit Surface Radar Solutions is responsible for profit & loss of our surface radar portfolio including both systems sales and services business within the Ground Based Air Defense, Naval, Weapon Locating and Air Surveillance domain.

Within Surface Radar Solutions the Product Management group is responsible for the roadmap and product profitability in the short and long term of the Surface Product Portfolio. We believe that the best solution to optimize product profitability is through base program management where product activities can be coordinated to meet the target cost. The output from the development projects can also be optimized if we coordinate common technology and connect the roadmap to these strategies.



Product Management consists of different roles which are needed to cover the full area of concern; Base program management, Product management, Marketing product management and Domain management.

Working within product management will put you in the sweet spot between marketing and technology. The market for radar systems is in change with more digital products and increased need for continuous development of new capabilities, our products need to meet our customers requirements today and in the future. In addition to that our products are expected to be in service for at least 30 years.
