As Head of the Quality and Safety Department, you will make a major contribution to the success of our missions. Our customers are the major space companies, agencies and commercial players in Europe and globally!


OHB Sweden is working on a series of scientific and earth observation missions. These include discovering a virgin comet, improving weathers forecast by atmospheric measurements, understanding the changes in our environment… These are just an extract of the purposes of some of our spacecraft projects.

The Quality and Safety Department offers you the chance to be involved in the whole portfolio of the company, from SW development, AOCS, GNC, Propulsion Systems and Spacecraft development. The department consists of a very competent team of SW Product Assurance, Hardware Product Assurance/Quality Assurance Managers/Engineers. The team consists currently of apx 10 employees.

The day-to-day task for the PA manager is to plan, manage and execute all product and quality assurance aspects of allocated space business projects from product design, inspections, manufacturing and test to project close out. The Quality team contributes to keeping our high quality standards while meeting project schedule, technical objectives and economic results. The company evolves towards small series production and the Quality and Safety department shall support this transition by developing our quality assurance methodologies and the quality of our suppliers.



As Head of the Quality and Safety department, you will be mainly responsible for

- Ensuring the quality of our products and projects fulfills our customer requirements and OHB Sweden standards. This shall secure the competitive advantage of OHB Sweden products.

- Developing the corrective as well as preventive actions to secure the product quality at short and long term.

- Acting as key responsible towards the customers, partners and suppliers on quality issues.

- Monitoring and controlling, including verification and validation of the sub-contractor’s compliance to the project's product and quality requirements.

- Responsible for quality control and follow-up (including quality incoming inspection of hardware on arrival, during production, integration and testing, and prior to delivery)

- Product Configuration Management

- Implementing "lessons learned" with customers and suppliers.

- The management of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) including driving the continuous improvement, development and maintenance, and securing the recertification of OHB Sweden.

- Implementing the Company Management Team’s strategic and operational decisions

- Ensuring that the department’s skills and competences are maintained and/or updated to reflect the company and projects’ needs.

- To report the activities within their area of responsibility to employees and managers.

- Recruitment.

- Resource planning to adapt resource availability in line with project demands, in close cooperation with the other departments.

- Budget within its area of responsibility (general expenses, training and investments).

- People development.

- Contribution to Business Proposals for the quality aspects

- Contribution to the OHB Group Quality Managers Network

Qualification required:

- Multi-year experience as Head of Quality department in the aerospace industry, or similar industry with similar high-quality requirements (medical devices, defense, automotive)

- Leadership skills, coordination skills, experienced with project work and cross functional teams, analytical skills, intercultural skills.

- ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

- M.Sc. engineering degree or similar

- Previous experience and knowledge in ECSS space standards is an advantage, as well as experience in a small series production environment.

- Language: fluent in English, Swedish is an advantage
