About this opportunity

Welcome to the Sanctions Analytics team. We add value by combining an understanding of business and stakeholder needs with knowledge about sanctions data to provide insights and data-driven solutions to support Nordea’s sanctions risk management. As the Head of Sanctions Analytics, you’ll play a valuable role in leading the way for securing we have the right capabilities and an empowered team who can meet demand for insights, and can leverage data in smart ways to support sanctions risk management and the smooth operations across the value chain.

What you’ll be doing:
* Leading, coaching and developing a team of data analysts specialised in the sanctions domain, with team members based in Estonia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark
* Setting and driving the agenda for Sanctions Analytics and securing plans are executed against, including driving analytics capability build
* Developing and improving ways of working and processes, with focus on simplification and operational excellence
* Working closely with stakeholders across the value chains and identify opportunities to better leverage data for the benefit of the value-chain

You’ll lead a team of data-minded colleagues who leverage differences in individual skills and knowledge to continuously improve on our capabilities, and deliver relevant insights for the organisation. The role is based in Tallinn, Helsinki or Stockholm, and reports into the Head of Sanctions Data & Analytics.

Your experience and background:
* Experience in the Financial or IT/Technology industries and familiarity with common banking industry concepts and processes. Knowledge of sanctions compliance/financial crime prevention is a strong advantage
* Experience working with data and analytics, with good understanding of what it takes to build new capabilities and understanding what creates value for stakeholders. Prior formal or informal leadership experience is considered a strong advantage
* Understanding of data and analytics tools such as Hadoop and PowerBI, and languages such as SQL, Python and R are considered a strong advantage
* Advanced English, spoken and written communication in a very international and diverse team environment
* A subject-relevant degree or equivalent work experience
