Head of Scania Data Protection Office
Are you looking for new opportunities in a dynamic and commercial workplace at one of the world’s best truck manufacturers? Scania is now searching for a new Head of Scania’s Data Protection Office, Scania’s central function supporting the business in privacy and data protection matters.
In this position, you will be working in a truly international environment but with your closest team at Scania’s head office in Södertälje, Sweden. You will manage and develop the data protection program at Scania and lead the collaboration of the network of privacy officers and data protection coordinators across Scania’s organization. You will also be leading the data protection collaboration taking place across the companies in TRATON Group.
The role reports to Head of Scania’s Group Legal & Compliance function.
Responsibilities:
Own and manage Scania’s global privacy program and overseeing privacy compliance globally in all our units.
Fostering a culture of data privacy compliance.
Provide guidance and instructions on data protection and privacy related matters to Scania’s organisation, including relevant risk assessments, trainings and monitoring activities,
Owning and developing relevant Scania policies, processes, methods and tools, incl. the system for data protection management , as support to the global organisation
Manging Scania Privacy Forum, being the central data protection virtual organisation,
Cooperate with regulatory or governmental agencies regarding any compliance and privacy related audits or investigations.
Manage and steer the Data Protection Office; a dynamic team of competent colleagues taking the roles of Privacy Specialist, Paralegal and Scania Data Protection Officer.
Member of the Leadership team within Group Legal & Compliance
Holding the role as TRATON Chief Privacy Officer; with a coordinating and directing responsibility for the data protection work in the TRATON Group, also being the Chair of TRATON Brand Privacy Forum.

Experiences & background
a university degree in law, information technology or information security,
at least 10 years’ relevant experience from a similar role in an international company, or from a law firm, authority or other equivalent assignment,
experience in supporting and managing personal data protection under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
working knowledge of other international legislations or guidelines on data privacy such as in the US or China.
experience in privacy risk management and an oversight of governance and controls to manage EU as well as global privacy risks effectively,
extensive familiarity of relevant legislation and standards for data protection, protection of personal information as well as for information security and other related topics.

Profile & capabilities
being customer-oriented and business minded with a collaborative and pragmatic approach,
holding a strong interest for privacy and data protection, digitalisation, cyber security, new technologies like artificial intelligence and legislative developments,
proven leadership and coaching experience from an international context and in managing a team of IT and legal specialists
experience of leading and coaching a network across an international organisation,
having skills in change management and in applying continuous improvements and problem solving,
being able to work independently and without prestige across both different organisational levels and cultures,
having a high level of integrity and trust, and good communication and presentation skills incl.
fluent written and spoken English. Swedish or German are a plus.
