In April 2021 Volvo Group and Isuzu Motors formed a strategic alliance with the goal of becoming the largest and most competitive commercial vehicle alliance in the world. This long-term worldwide cooperation is based on a "win-win" approach, with each party leveraging its strengths in specific products, technology, and markets to maximize value and benefits. In this strategic alliance, Purchasing has a key role in identifying and executing synergy initiatives and projects that harvest on the alliance strengths.
You will be instrumental in orchestrating the synergy agenda within the Volvo Group purchasing community. The way we are collaborating across Truck Divisions and Business Areas is key when driving the overall transformation agenda.
You and your team will also be responsible for strategic investigations which could come up from time to time important for our transformational journey within Volvo Group

Main Responsibilities
Lead the strategic agenda and governance structure for the purchasing function for Volvo Group with Isuzu Motors
Promote the Alliance towards external and internal stake holders.
Member of Volvo Group Alliance Core Team as Purchasing representative and Member of Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization Leadership team
Plan, execute and follow-up major strategic development initiatives, strategic projects, and contracts with Isuzu Motors and other strategic partners.
Define the long-term plans and governance with alliances, joint ventures and specific strategic initiatives.
Lead certain Volvo Group Purchasing Strategic Initiatives
Coach and develop your team to the full potential
Identify and drive purchasing synergy initiatives across Truck Divisions/Business Areas and strategic partners.
Competence & Experience
Strong strategic skills with an ability to handle ambiguity’s and hold things together during tough times
Demonstrated ability to lead, challenge and coach teams
Ability to execute in a global, multi-dimensional and multi-cultural organization
Ability to represent Group Trucks Purchasing in a recognized professional way
Extensive network both in Group Trucks Purchasing and in Truck Divisions/Business Areas
Ability to provide strategic, cross-functional and business view on alliance objectives and strategic initiatives.
Able to manage complex situations with an ownership and winner mindset.
Multicultural, multifunctional experience required
Courage & Integrity
Proficiency in Japanese would be considered as a plus.
