Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania has decided to install a 3rd industrial hub in China besides the industrial installations in Europe and Latin America. The factories in the new hub will be final assembly, cab production, engine assembly, and Transmission assembly with related logistic functions.

Head of Supply Chain Planning / Production Control Asia
In the role, you will be a part of an exciting journey, in the first step set the base for Logistics at the new hub in Asia during the project phase and later start up the line functions for Supply chain Management, Production control, in China. A close corporation with the functions in Södertälje and Sâo Paulo will be crucial for a successful start. The role will at the start preferably be located in Södertälje and will during the coming years physically move to Rugao in China as the project and establishment progress.

The global Logistic processes are undergoing significant changes in the core IT functionality. Contributing during the project phase and securing a stable start-up will be key responsibilities for the role. In parallel, you will have to build up the future line organisation in China and establish the work culture and correct way of working based on the Scania way.

You will be a member of the Logistic management team in the new hub in China. You will have a very international role with a strong focus on the Asian region.

Your duties 
You will be responsible for Supply Chain Management for Industrial operations in the new hub in Asia in terms of daily activities:


• Order Management
• Production Planning Coordination
• Invoice/Export
• Outbound planning

Also being a part of the global long- and mid-term planning processes in accordance with local demands. In the first phase of the assignment, as part of the global processes, you will build up the local processes, interfaces, and functions for the line function responsibilities for the industrial hub.

Lead the Supply Chain Management project with resources from Södertälje and Sâo Paulo and in parallel, build up the local team and their competencies in China. Meaning recruitment, training, and building department culture will be a key topic.

Participate in the global development, for both Scania and the group, for the processes related to Supply Chain Management and related areas.

Your profile 
Significant experience within the Production Control, Supply Chain Management, and Production planning area is a necessity.

You are an experienced manager with 10+ year’s experience in management positions. Preferably in Logistics.

To succeed in this position personal drive and curiosity will be needed, as well as good cooperation and communication skills and interest in developing employees and building up a new organisation.

You have great communication and presentation skills both internally to your team and also on a corporate level. You are fluent in English, and Mandarin (Chinese) is a benefit.

Your location
The position is full-time and for the initial part, you will preferably be located in Sweden and then on-site in the Rugao/Nantong region (close to Shanghai) for 2-3 years.
