Let’s talk about the job
In this position, you’re the key player in developing, influencing and delivering the sustainability strategy throughout our entire organization. You define and lead the work of our sustainable business and EHS direction and activities – including Health and Safety, Sustainability, Real Estate and Management Systems and ISO Audit areas. You provide expertise for all activities that support our sustainability shift and strategy by engaging and collaborating in business area and group activities as required. You’re a significant sounding board to our management team and other entities within Sandvik Group related to all aspects of sustainability.
Also included in your mission:
Developing and implementing the division's sustainability and EHS strategy as well as sustainability shift – ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing operational, product, and customer aspects.
Secure that Sandvik Coromant deliver sustainable solutions, with a leading offering contributing to our customers reaching their sustainability objectives.
Collaborating with other functions and leaders to integrate sustainability objectives in plans and activities, monitor progress, and track key performance indicators – fostering a culture of sustainability across the organization.
Supports the division with activities such as acquisitions, integration, divestments and external representations within the area of EHS, Sustainability and Real Estate.
You report to Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability, Sandvik Coromant. The preferred location for this position is Sweden and international travel is included in your job.
Your background and profile
We’re looking for someone with a university degree in business, environmental science, environmental management, engineering or other relevant background. Several years of experience in designing and implementing sustainability strategies in a global organization is required and you have a good understanding of the operations of a manufacturing business and the entire value chain – from R&D to finished product. Additionally, you’re good at influencing, convincing and leading in settings with many different stakeholders. As we operate in a global setting, excellent written and verbal skills in English are required.
To further succeed in this role, you need experience within:
EHS related activities.
People management.
Market analysis and business intelligence work.
Strategic planning tools and models.
Financial awareness and proficiency.
It’s an advantage with experience and understanding of the applications and production technology within the machining industry, experience in sustainability or environmental science and certification in environmental assessment it’s also a plus.

You’re strategic, analytic, creative, and driven – having good capability to prioritize, organize, plan, and execute assignments. You build networks and lead multifunctional, international, and virtual teams with greatness, always with high accountability and engagement on your own tasks and responsibilities. With good communication skills, you connect with stakeholders at all levels in a balanced way.
