Who we are
At Finance, you are part of a global team that drives business performance to realize the objectives set out in Volvo Cars Corporate Strategy. You act in cooperation with colleagues in other business units world-wide, you and your team provide financial expertise and guidance. At finance, you can push your own professional skills and drive change.
We are now looking for a new team member as a Head of Sustainability and Taxonomy Finance, to Accounting & Group Reporting.
What you will do
The role as Head of Sustainability and Taxonomy at Finance is new and will develop over time. Your primary focus will be the EU Taxonomy and its’ reporting. Finance has the responsibility for the EU Taxonomy reporting in total within Volvo Cars.
Your responsibility will include the EU Taxonomy section of the annual report: financials, DNSH and minimum safeguards. You will drive the data collection and develop relevant information including writing the text for the annual report. It is crucial that you are up to date, and closely follow the developments of the EU Taxonomy directive regarding all parts of our business.
You will have the opportunity to continuously work closely with other key functions within the company since this is a cross functional effort. It’s your responsibility to make sure that the annual report content is accurate and relevant and that colleagues within the company can contribute in a timely manner and knows what is expected.
Included in this role is to develop plans and including suggesting priorities, that enables our company to reach certain levels of alignment with the EU Taxonomy for the years to come, that is also relevant to our sustainability agenda and potential investors. You will also be the one to monitor that the agreed ambitions are delivered. All EU Taxonomy relevant issues are decided by the Green Financing Committee, which will be your main guiding and reporting fora.
It is our strong conviction and ambition that sustainability will be a natural part of all our daily business. Any sustainability aspect, external or internal, that relates to Accounting & Group Reporting will become the responsibility of this position. Long term you will contribute to assure that our company has a top position when it comes to sustainable finance. One area that has been identified as crucial in the coming years is circular economy.
You and your skills
We are looking for a person with a genuine knowledge and understanding of the EU Taxonomy in general and preferably also the automotive industry applicable parts. You are interested both in the big picture but also knows that the details are important.
We highly value team leader and project management skills and experience, combined with a great interest in and passion for sustainability. Being the position where finance and sustainability merge is something that sounds attractive and interesting to you. Preferably you have experience from both financial reporting and sustainability which will help you prosper in this role.
Based on the shift we predict of our business, transforming into a circular business, it is important that you are interested in and prepared to contribute to that change. Knowledge regarding circular economy is meritorious.
On a personal level you have a desire to deliver results, you enjoy developing strategies and be tactical. You have well developed communication and cooperation abilities. You need to be able to assist, educate, motivate and support colleagues to contribute what is needed.
And finally, your are fully proficient in English, both verbally and in writing, and have an academic degree, either from business or from engineering, with business additions.
