Head of TechOps for Digital Marketing Platform

We are looking for a Head of Technical Operations with experience in running high performance Operations/DevOps functions. You will have overall responsibility for managing high-performing and scalable systems to handle massive amounts of transactions. We have recently gone through a large transformation, moving away from our legacy platform and replacing that with modern technologies and infrastructure as code. Our new platform is built on containerised microservices, running in Kubernetes that we deploy in the cloud through continuous deployment. We are working with test driven development to ensure high quality and we can quickly implement new software into production.


You will manage a small and high performing team taking care of our Operational environment. You will take full responsibility of our AWS and Oracle Cloud environments and should therefore have solid experience with cloud tech.


For this position, frequent communication with our development teams and external partners is essential. You will handle all licensing agreements and be expected to evaluate existing agreements and partners to ensure that we always get the best solutions and support for our environment and well as the best value for money.


Who you are
- At least 4 years of experience in a System Operations/DevOps role
- Experience of working with cloud platforms (ideally AWS, Oracle a benefit)
- Experience working with containers, Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience managing vendors and contracts/licences
- Previous leadership experience is an advantage
- Experience in operating and scaling high-transactional solutions
- Experience in scripting and in virtualisation
- You can quickly pick up an understanding of the business you are working with and are able to convert that knowledge into technical solutions that fulfil client needs.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, in particular Terraform
- Good knowledge of Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- Active knowledge of industry trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
