Are you a senior textile engineer/expert with excellent knowledge of the apparel industry, value chain and with a strong passion for sustainable fashion? This is a unique opportunity to join TreeToTextile as Head of Textile Development & Design and together with the team, shape and impact on their global success.

YOU WILL

TreeToTextile’s aim is to develop and industrialize a new innovative man-made cellulosic fiber technology that will provide textile fibers with a sustainable performance. They are now entering an up-scaling phase, building a demo plant, and are looking to strengthening the team with a Head of Textile Development & Design.

The focus of the role is to be the technical expert in textile production and its processes. It is a strategic role where you will utilize your overall industry knowledge, manage application operations down-streams and brand engagement projects. You will work closely with the R&D team and the lab; conducting tests but also to be the one bringing back insights, trends and learning from the market. You will be a key member of a small team reporting to the CEO and be based at head office in central Stockholm.

As Head of Textile Development & Design you will over time build successful collaborations internationally and contribute to marketing activities. You will for sure be part of the positioning globally with insights and knowledge relevant to textile stakeholders like brands, manufacturer and NGOs.

YOU ARE

We are looking for a strong individual that has in-depth knowledge from textile production and its processes, producers and regulations as well as standards. You need to have experience of managing high level projects in the textile industry. To fit the role, we believe it is crucial that you are purpose driven and share our drive to bring sustainable materials to the wider market. If you, in addition have international experience and an eye for business opportunities as well as innovation possibilities, we will be very interested in speaking to you!

Further you will need to:

- have a Degree in Textile Engineering or similar
- have knowledge of how the apparel / fashion industry operates and how to influence its stakeholders
- have an eye for design in combination with cost awareness and a strive for continues improvement
- have a problem-solving mentality and the ability to build, shape and lead new innovative initiative
- have fantastic people skills and be a great communicator externally and internally
