Your role
This year, Saab AB has started a new aviation business that includes Aerial Fire Fighting. The aircraft type used is the Air Tractor 802F Fire Boss. An American-made aircraft that is also used for agricultural aviation.
Saab AB has a 4-year agreement with the Swedish Civil Contingency Agency (MSB) that comprises of two aircrafts that can be increased to four. In order to operate the AT802F, Saab uses both its own permanent pilots and contracted pilots.
In order to create flexibility and robustness when it comes to training of AT802F pilots, Saab has decided to start its own training organization. Such Approved Training Organization (ATO) shall meet the requirements of EASA Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011, Annex VII - Part-ORA, Subpart ATO.
Saab is therefore looking for a Head of Training (HT). As HT, you are responsible for ensuring that the training and operations within the ATO is in compliance with the appropriate requirements. Initially, training will only take place on the AT802F, but in the long term, other aircraft types may become relevant. Some mission training, which is not subject to an Authority approval, will also take place under HT's responsibility.
HT will report directly to Head of Flight Operations and will be one of 5 section managers. This appointment also includes its own flight service on one of our aircraft types. The work will mainly be done with Nyköping as the base. We are looking for the person that want to build a new business concept within Saab.
Your profile
We are looking for you who want to combine an active flight duty with the ambition to educate a team. You are an active pilot, preferably but not necessarily experience from Air tractor 802F and/or MU-2.
You must meet the requirements of an HT according to EASA Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011, Annex VII - Part ORA - ORA.ATO.110.
We believe that you have previous experience in aviation training activities, are interested in regulatory issues and have a drive to develop operations. You are expected to have a major focus on flight safety.

What you will be a part of
You will work in the Saab Flight Operations Department as one of 5 subordinate managers. In essence, our new training organization will work towards our Special Flight Organization in Nyköping.
The Special Flight Operations consists of Target towing and Electronic Warfare training for our military clients and calibration flying for airport navigation aides both military and civilian. High risk operations at low altitude with emphasis on safety has been a big part of what we do at SAAB for many years and we are excited to add Aerial Firefighting to that list.
