Group Tax shall ensure that the companies within Volvo Cars follow local tax rules and regulations. Group Tax’ main task is to ensure that tax is correctly handled and reported to authorities, find ways to optimize the company's tax structures and cost, lead and administer tax litigation and tax audits, issue policies, develop, maintain and implement the company's transfer pricing policy and align pricing towards group companies.

Group Tax is organized within Group Finance and consists of 24 persons in Sweden, US and China, specialized within corporate income tax, VAT, social security charges and transfer pricing. The work within Group Tax involves extensive contacts both within Volvo Cars and externally with tax authorities etc. This gives a tremendous opportunity for broadened experience and networking within Volvo Cars and externally in Sweden and worldwide. For the position as Head of Transfer Pricing within Group Tax, we are now looking for a knowledgeable and experienced person focused on transfer pricing who wants to be part of an active group in a dynamic environment.

The Transfer Pricing department is part of Group Tax and consist of 7 persons specialized within transfer pricing. The group should be regarded as the Volvo Car Group´s primary authority in transfer pricing matters and the main responsibility lies with the Head of Transfer Pricing. The overall responsibility involves:

•    Securing that Volvo Car Group’s transfer pricing model is in line with the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and follows the local regulations of the country in which relevant Volvo Car Group entities are located when determining the prices of its inter-company transactions. 

•    Securing that Volvo Car Group conducts its inter-company and related party transactions at arm’s length to ensure that parties are appropriately remunerated, that the transfer pricing methods are consistently applied, and has implemented transfer pricing documentation to verify and support the transfer pricing methods applied.

What you’ll do 

You will plan, lead and secure the quality of the work within the transfer pricing department, and as such be responsible for Transfer Pricing matters in the Volvo Car group and towards other affiliates. In this role, you will pursue transfer pricing issues towards tax authorities, courts and other local authorities as well as competent authorities, lead and administer transfer pricing tax audits and queries. You will be responsible for the pro-active management /implementation/sign-off of all administrative obligations regarding transfer pricing items and participate in projects ensuring correct transfer pricing handling/set up.

You will also train and guide the organization regarding transfer pricing matters and ad hoc questions. As such, you will be a sounding board for the team members, the finance department, the foreign affiliate's team members and for other departments in transfer pricing related questions and in this securing that Volvo Cars companies meet legal requirements. Lastly, since this is a managerial position you have the overall responsibility to lead and develop the transfer-pricing department as a whole.

Do you fit the profile? 

For this role, you need to have a university degree within law or economics and extensive experience from qualified work of transfer pricing regarding large companies, for example from the tax department of a large company or an audit /consultancy firm or a Tax Agency. We want you to bring experience from leading teams and knowledge within international tax matters. This role requires a good understanding of accounting, financial and business principles. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Swedish is meritorious. 

The role is challenging and the person holding the position will continue to build transfer pricing expertise, develop in direct and functional leadership, spreading the transfer pricing message in the organization, working in and leading teams and understanding the automotive and Volvo Cars business.
