WHAT UTOPIANS DO

We are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.

WHAT YOUR WILL BE

Utopia's future Head of Royalty Management Services will play an essential role in developing one of the company's most prominent business units.

Music industry is struggling to close the data gap between payments, consumption and copyrights. Within the Royalty Management Services business unit you’ll create solutions for Collection Societies, Labels and Publishers to enforce creator rights by enabling licensing, reporting, distribution, payments and value-adding services. You play a major part in making music royalties globally fairer, faster and more transparent.

Your primary role (focus) as the Head of Royalty Management services for Utopia is to scale business and product offering to help collection societies perform more efficiently in their responsibility of processing royalties collection, allocation and distribution. Your job is to build the team, capture the business opportunity, manage partnerships and help maximise the distribution of the Utopia royalty management services.

MAIN CONTACTS

- Reporting to the Head of Royalty Management Services, with unrestrained access to the COO, CEO and Chairman
- The international executive leadership team, closely working with group CLC (Legal), CFO (Financial), CPO (Product) and Head of Utopia Platform


FOCUS OF THE ROLE

- Develop our offering commercially towards collection societies, distributors and publishers
- Be accountable for Utopia Music AG's offering and services for collection societies and publishers, the related relationships and proposition towards collection solutions from UGC platforms in the Music industry
- Collaborate with UGC platforms in creation of copyright solutions
- Work closely with different industry bodies and authorities in our key markets to understand and comply with applicable laws for collection societies (e.g. copyrights directive)
- Manage our day-to-day commercial relationships with our customers and delivery teams
- Work closely (collaborate) with the data team and product team of Utopia Music to serve our clients with best of breed services.
- Identify new commercial opportunities for our clients and for the company based on new partnerships and our data or new data sets to be acquired.


THE IDEAL SKILLSET

- Strong commercial mindset and experience from operating profit and loss responsibilities (e.g. business leadership)
- Experience and expertise on building and managing royalty management services
- Sales and customer-facing experience. You have excellent experience in creating and nurturing commercial relationships and strategic partnerships with collection societies and related partners
- Can start big things, lead through early and later growth stages. Understand and perform complex systemic thinking.
