Bistro1909 is a family owned company which owns two restaurants in the old town of Alcúdia in Mallorca, Spain. Bistro 1909 is open for lunch and dinner and has a capacity of 35 covers on the terrace and 25 inside. The menu is presenting local ingredients in a global setting. Several classics are side-by-side original Bistro dishes. The kitchen and service team consists of thirteen people in each restaurant. We are open from March until November. Bistro1909 has Scandinavian owners and the company language is English.

Head Waiter / Head Waitress to our bistros

We are looking for a head waiter/head waitress to our bistros in the old town of Alcúdia, Mallorca. We are an international team that focuses on collaboration to achieve high quality in a high pace environment. We believe that you are a highly social and talkative person who can function calmly in a stressful environment. You have valid experience from restaurant service and some experience from managing a team. You are very interested to learn new things. You are now looking for a real challenge and a chance to develop. The waiter is the front person of the bistro and the one who creates the atmosphere. A waiter in Bistro1909 is performing all necessary tasks in a restaurant including bar tending, order taking, serving, cleaning and handling the tilt. The head waiter also takes responsibility for daily operations. He or she makes sure that the routines are implemented, followed and checked. The HW takes care of orders and stocks and some administrative work.
You understand the value of good service and you truly enjoy giving it at the same time as you manage to create good sales. You enjoy working in a team close to others and you can take the role of a leader at the same time as you can work side by side with your colleagues. Responsibility come natural to you and you are a problem-solver. You are also physically fit to handle sometimes hard work in a hot climate. You need to speak good English and it is a plus if you speak German or Spanish.
The contract for this employment starts 2 March and finishes for the season 3 November. The salary is according to agreement. The company will provide Social Security and insurance according to Spanish law. If you are in need of housing we will assist you in finding an accommodation.
