Health and Safety Engineer
There is now an opportunity for you to join one of Europe's largest construction companies in building the new subway! We at Itinera are looking for a Health and safety engineer to be part of building the Arenastaden - Södra Hagalund station.
You will be part of a QHSE team and play a significant role as a Health and safety engineer in daily operations. You will also work closely with the HSE team at our client as well as the production team on site, which consists of about 30 colleagues in various roles. Main responsibilities as a Health and Safety Engineer
• Advise project management on Health and safety matters.
• Attend site meetings related to occupational health and safety.
• Plan and implement regular safety meetings with site personnel.
• Participate in "Toolbox" talks at the workplace.
• Prepare and update the Health and Safety Plan in compliance with legislation and company guidelines.
• Prepare documentation for health and safety at the construction site.
• Maintain and improve the project-specific health and safety system.
• Conduct induction training on health and safety for new hires.
• Handle and develop Health and Safety training and information for site personnel.
• Ensure understanding and observance of the Health and Safety Plan by all involved personnel, including contractors/subcontractors.
• Conduct regular internal health and safety audits within the project and identify improvement areas.
• Lead workplace safety inspections at the construction site.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine causes and develop.
• Prepare reports on all accidents, including near misses, according to legislation, and keep appropriate records.
Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related field or a corresponding, relevant educational background or certifications in environmental management.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in QHSE management or a related field, preferably in the construction or engineering industry
• Experience with risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective/preventive action processes.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs on QHSE topics.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Swedish.
• Competence in conducting audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
