Health and Safety Specialist / Byggarbetsmiljösamordnare (BAS) - Olofström

The Health & Safety team has the global responsibility to secure Volvo Car Group's prerequisites to fulfill legal compliance and corporate strategy ambitions within work environment, including company health services and wellness program. With global standards and local adaptions we define and implement common policies and strategies for work environment and health services to support Volvo Car Group's overall People Strategy. We are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate level of standards, coherence and governance are maintained on a global lever. We also secure medical services to employees in accordance to local needs and prerequisites. This position is within the team supporting Volvo Car Group's business in Sweden and consist of 14 people supporting different units.
In this role as Health & Safety Specialist/BAS you will have Volvo Cars Body Component plant in Olofström as responsibility area, to coordinate health & safety-, environment-, fire protection and security activities for building- and civil engineering work or major machine- and equipment installations, involving contractors, secure that appropriate actions are taken according to laws and Volvo Cars routines. Your main responsibility will be tasks as BAS-U. You will be a part of a smaller team situated at the plant and you will have your own area of responsibility but work close together with the other team members.
Main responsibilities
* Coordinate health & safety-, environment-, fire protection and security activities for building- and civil engineering work or major machine- and equipment installations, involving contractors working at Volvo Cars premises and fulfil legal compliance
* Implement Volvo Cars internal regulations and routines
* Secure that appropriate actions are taken according to laws and Volvo Cars procedures
* Expert support to managers, project leaders, contractors and contact persons in their work to meet legal requirements and continually develop and improve the working environment
* From time to time manage small sized projects within the Health & Safety area
* As project member contribute to development of Health & Safety processes
Required qualifications
* Documented education and experience as BAS-U
* Documented education and experience as BAS-P are meritorious
* Experience of managing construction projects as well as machine and equipment installations
* Expert knowledge of Swedish legislation in the field of work environment
* Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
* Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety and the environment in General.
* Industry and global experience are meritorious
