Job description
A new clinical laboratory in Solna has opened up with the purpose to increase the national capacity for analysis of Covid-19 infection. The lab is located at Biomedicum, Campus Solna, offering state of the art facilities. ABC Labs is now expanding and looking for laboratory technicians to work specifically as shift lead for the heat-inactivation process..
Areas of responsibility
The heat-inactivation shift lead will be operationally responsible for the heat-inactivation process, consisting of receiving, documenting and heat-inactivating COVID-19 samples.
The role incorporates responsibility for training and leading the heat-inactivation team, consisting of laboratory assistants.
assisting the laboratory technicians, mainly by preparing samples for analysis by sorting and documenting them. Other responsibilities include maintaining a clean workspace as well as making sure that the inventory of supplies are neatly organized.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is readily available to work during late evening- and night shifts. Our ideal candidate has a relevant education, e.g., molecular biology or similar and experience working in BSL 2 lab, knowledge on Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), hands on experience in handling viruses is a merit. Feeling comfortable working in a clinical lab environment is a prerequisite.
To enjoy this position it is important that you like spending time at the lab and are willing to work shifts and weekends. You feel comfortable with independently planning and documenting your work. You appreciate the importance of teamwork and it is therefore important that you are flexible and have good collaboration skills. As a person you are driven, thorough, structured and communicative. Since the lab is relatively newly started it is good if you like to be part of improvement processes.
