Who are we?
Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture, and brand uniqueness.
We are now looking for a Heating and Cooling System Responsible, with the primary focus on battery and fuel cells electric vehicles (BEV/FC).
As a Heating and Cooling System responsible for BEV and FCell, your responsibility will be to bridge between the component development and the strategic development of the complete thermal management system. You will create, develop and analyze System Concepts and define balanced system requirements in close collaboration with system architects, component owners, test and simulation engineers. As part of a thermal management team, you share with peers your progresses and target to maximize the collective output.

We are looking for someone who has genuine interest in the automotive industry with a thermal management system background and have been working with this for several years. You enjoy working in a team as well as individually and you feel engaged by working in projects and reaching goals. Since the job requires a net of contacts, internally and externally, your networking skill is valued, and you need to have the ability to work with a cross-functional network and in multicultural environment.
You have a solid interest in technology and would love working with new solutions to make transports greener and more sustainable. As a Heating and Cooling System Responsible, your key responsibilities include:
Creating, developing and analyzing the system concepts.
Performing the system optimization studies.
Defining and securing that all the system requirements are met.
Developing and anchoring the time plan level 3 for System development (Component development and
verification and validation).
Supporting functional development of thermal management actuators.
Evaluating of System concept with 1D and 3D simulation results.
Plan concept and system testing in virtual and physical rigs and complete vehicles.
Performing S-FMEA and other proactive quality activities.
Synchronizing and cross functionally anchor sub system performance and concepts.

Required knowledge/experience
Several years of experience in heat transfer and cooling system.
Good analytical and problem solving abilities / Fault tracing
Thermal Simulation
Experience in digital twin is a plus.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written
Applicants shall have Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
