A challenging position in one of the most expansive real estate companies in Europe. You will be responsible for and work with our Swedish accounting team as well as our Account Payables team, a total of about 20 skilled employees. As we are quickly growing, no day is the same as the one before and we are constantly learning, together! You will be reporting to our Head of Finance for Sweden.
What will you do?
In the position as Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the daily work and development of accounting and accounts payable in our Swedish companies, alongside personnel responsibility.
At Heimstaden, since we do not have every guideline and policy in place for everything, your work will also consist of driving change and setting up new and improved ways of working, as well as looking for best practice.
You will be responsible for:
Providing oversight and direction to the employees in the accounting & accounts payable team in accordance with the organization's goals, policies, and procedures.
Motivating team members, including communicating departmental and individual goals and identify areas for team members' development.
Developing and improving the accounting function in line with the company’s strategy for growth, including but not limited to the development of processes, systems, automation, reporting tools, internal control, and organization.
Management of accounting, local statutory reporting requirements, tax and VAT compliance and reporting for all Swedish entities.
Bookkeeping, payment approvals, reconciliations for a portfolio of companies.
Managing the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process to country management and group.
Contribution in the budgeting process
Acting as a discussion partner in relation to other business processes, including, transactions, acquisitions, business cases etc.
Coordination and ensuring efficient local audits aligned with internal Group timeline.
Ensuring strong collaboration with all relevant business partners and other departments and functions.
Challenges in the position are the fast phase of our growth, where we sometimes “lay the track during the train ride” as well as the somewhat complex company structure with a lot of different companies. We are very open for learning and development and ways to worker even smarter, so you have a lot of mandat in those type of areas as well.
To be our dream candidate, you have
A University degree/B Sc in Business Administration, Accounting or similar
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Accounting Manager from a large company (preferably in an international business environment)
Significant experience from managing teams (personnel responsibility)
Ideally work experience as an auditor during your career
Had exposure to reporting requirements for publicity listed companies
Excellent skills in 365 Office (notably ppt and excel)
Solid IT knowledge and interest in ERP systems and experience from working with projects and process development
Significant experience from working with the majority or all processes within accounting, financial reporting, tax, and corporate compliance requirements
Great skills in Swedish and English, both orally and verbally
Above this, you are someone who enjoys leading and developing other, through a “we before me” mentality. You believe in clear expectations and dare to communicate clearly and transparent to the team as well as taking initiative. We believe you would be described as a self-driven person with a big commitment and with a natural structure and planning of your work.
You like leading others and care for their development, as well as being passionate about constant improvement of both processes and ways of working. At the same time, you have a strong analytical ability and are good at switching focus from details to the overall perspective.
