About us
Volvo Cars is growing and facing an interesting future in the electrification of Vehicles. If you want to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation electrified luxury cars, the role as our new Hardware in the loop (HIL) Development Engineer is the role for you to prosper!
You will be a part of one of three Agile HIL Development teams that belongs to the section EPS (Electric Propulsion System) System Integration. The teams consist of around 15 very competent members from all over the world. We are working with Hardware In the Loop development including e.g. sw coding, model development and fault tracing on HW and SW. We support all the engineering departments within the EPS area, meaning take on the responsibility for design and maintenance of HIL environment for Electrical Drive Systems (Electric machines and Inverters), Battery Systems, as well as Power Supply and Charging Systems for electrified vehicles.
What you’ll do
The HIL teams are responsible for developing HIL environment for all high voltage components included in the electrical drivetrain. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow’s virtual methods within powertrain electrification.
We are looking to grow our team that is responsible for the development tools and processes for the HIL models. You will work with cutting edge technologies such as electric vehicles, model implementation on FPGA chip and Continuous Integration (CI).
The integration of HIL test into the CI chain demands higher development speed and faster deployment speed as well as better model quality.
Do you fit the profile?
We see that you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, SW Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on vehicle and driveline. You are proficient in programming with Matlab and dynamic modelling using Simulink. If you have worked in an Agile environment and with Continuous Integration it is beneficial.
You are fluent in English.
Experience from some of below would also be considered meritorious:
• Software testing and validation
• CAN communication and Control units in vehicle electrical system
• Electric Motors, Power Electronics and Traction Battery technology
• Experience from Continuous Integration
• Experience with HIL systems and real-time simulation
