At Volvo Cars, we are pioneering digital transformations in the automotive industry. Our mission is to lead the way by creating a digital ecosystem centered on simplifying our customers' lives. Join a team of curious and innovative individuals who are passionate about making a difference. In the Complete HIL Development team, we are dedicated to designing and developing Hardware in the Loop (HIL) at the complete vehicle level. Our HILs are vital for integrating and verifying both hardware and software in the early stages, simulating real vehicle dynamics through environmental models executed in real-time on dSpace SCALEXIO simulators. We ensure that our HIL rigs can adapt to future projects, including electrification and autonomous vehicles.
What You'll Do
As a HIL Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse team, continuously enhancing test automation, Simulink modeling, and HIL solution integration. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of Volvo Cars Vehicle systems and Electrical functions while building relationships with colleagues and suppliers. This role offers diverse and stimulating work, encompassing both hardware and software aspects. Together with your team, you'll innovate the HIL concept to enable test automation and Continuous Integration, contributing to cutting-edge methodologies that keep us at the forefront of the industry. Your primary responsibilities will include leading the building, development, maintenance, and testing of HIL rigs, supporting verification in vehicles at the system or functional level, and participating in team efforts to develop solutions across platforms.
Who You Are
You are a curious problem-solver who excels in flexibility and multitasking. You thrive in collaborative environments, leveraging your social skills to achieve results. Driven and quality-conscious, you continuously seek opportunities to improve methods and processes. With a Master’s degree or B.Sc. in electronics, physics, mechatronics, or related fields, along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, you bring valuable expertise to the table. Your technical competencies include experience in electronic component and system design and development, test-driven development, Simulink modeling, and graphical user interface design. You've worked with building HIL and automated test systems in dSpace rigs and have experience in domains like hybrid and electric vehicle development, AD/ADAS, infotainment, and powertrain systems. Skilled in Agile/SAFe frameworks and continuous improvement, you possess effective communication and collaboration skills, ensuring product flow and deliveries while coaching team members for success.
