Bridging Automation and IT in manufacturing - Data Historian Engineer to AstraZeneca

At Operations IT we are driven by bringing value for our patients by developing inventive solutions with tomorrow's technology - here our day job is goal-oriented and global - with many ways to develop as an individual. This role is part of the AstraZeneca Historian Dev/Ops (flex) team, distributed in Globally and reports to team lead in Chennai.
What you'll do
You will be working with our two main Historians at Operations. Our new global standard platform based on PI. Also, the Production Information System (PIS) which is based on the AspenTech A1 platform.
Site Historians are used across AstraZeneca to collect data from equipment and systems at manufacturing sites and holds information about the manufacturing process. Harvesting the gold dust by analyzing the data from our process equipment, site Historian collects process data, brings it to visualization and dashboards. This is key in AstraZeneca's work to digitize our manufacturing processes.
Why does AstraZeneca assemble this data at the shop floor? The information is used to;
* Generate Batch Reports for batch release, hence a vital part of our delivery of medicines to our patients
* Optimize the manufacturing - how can we be more efficient in our processes?
* Recipe Management
* The information in our Historians is used by other applications, and going forward this will be increasingly used locally and globally within AZ for many purposes
* Predictive maintenance, Manufacturing Intelligence, etc.
Accountabilities
* Work with colleagues to analyze project requirements
* Design robust Historian integrations to source systems according to architecture & guidelines to meet the requirements and document this design
* Develop and configure the integration in the system according to the design
* Detailing and performing testing/Qualification/validation
* Ensure optimum performance and stability for the site Historian
* Work with the support team to investigate and resolve issues
* Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management
* Close collaboration with multiple partners including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements
Requirements
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
* Degree in Computer Engineering or similar education or Manufacturing/Process Automation or equivalent experience
* Proficiency in Swedish and English
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Problem-solving and collaborative approach
Desirable (not essential)
* Basic understanding and interest of manufacturing automation, e.g. PLC, SCADA, DCS
* Experience of MES/Historian i.e. AspenTech AspenOne, OSI PI
* Basic understanding of Oracle and SQL.
* Understanding of Microsoft Reporting Services
* Understanding of scripting languages (SQL+ and similar)
* +2 years of prior experience in application development/support of off - the-shelf and custom applications
