Product Regulations and Compliance (PRC) is looking for a Homologation Architect who will be part of a team whose mission is to embrace opportunities and challenges to evolve required homologation work for Volvo Cars. This work is being conducted in cooperation with our homologation and development teams within R&D. What we do
Product Regulations and Compliance (PRC) is part of the R&D Release Office. The purpose of the R&D Release Office is to establish quality assured releases with correct content at an agreed cadence based on speed and dedication. Within PRC, we are working with the products in focus with a trust-based relationship with authorities worldwide by navigating to compliance, having a clear insight into the key strategic technologies, and a clear communication regarding regulatory requirements. The Homologation Architecture team has a key role to play, and there are high expectations on enabling our homologation processes downstream to be as flawless as possible.
By identifying the regulatory and homologation prerequisites, the Homologation Architecture team is to clear the pathway for the homologation processes by supporting solutions for opportunities or removal of hurdles to meet Volvo Cars’ strategies and cooperate closely with all of R&D. The team also works within base product development and addresses impact analysis on homologation requirements and regulations. The team acts as a bridge between regulations, certification, compliance, and support in developing better capabilities and system solutions. The team and its members are also responsible for developing the roadmap for homologation and supporting PRC process development and interaction with other units within R&D.
What you’ll do
Through daily interactions with relevant stakeholders, you will have a close focus on finding solutions to different areas that may affect the ability for the homologation process to move forward swiftly and efficiently. You may be requested to work within a variety of technical requirements; Sustainability, Autonomous Driving, General Software, General Safety and Aftermarket and be part of analysis of the next step forward within these areas.
You will also be asked to work closely with our sister teams for compliance in China, Americas, and all homologation representatives at different and critical markets. In parallel, you will be requested to take active part in development of all processes needed for homologation and compliance to make sure they are optimized. You collaborate with the various areas within Product Creation, Procurement and Aftermarket. Within the above framework you may be requested to travel.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role, we believe that you have at least a BSc degree or equivalent. You have several years of experience including knowledge and skills related to homologation. You will need to enjoy being part of developing a newly founded team where we continuously improve our structure and ways of working. You need to be an effective communicator and be comfortable presenting your work in written and oral presentations. Being fluent in English is mandatory. Additional languages such as Swedish or Chinese are highly meritorious.

You need to be passionate and engaged, inspire the people around you, and have great communication skills. Finally, you need to be self-propelled, structured, and analytical, but also enjoy solving difficult tasks in cooperation with all our teams.
