Kungl. Musikhögskolan i Stockholm / The Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) is Sweden's only independent state university for higher music education. KMH educates approx. 1,300 students a year in education programs for, among others, folk, jazz and classical music, conducting, composition, music and media production as well as various teacher training courses with a focus on music. KMH also conducts research and postgraduate training in music and music pedagogy and participates in extensive artistic and pedagogical research and development projects in Sweden and internationally. During the summer of 2016, KMH moved to a new purpose-built campus at the intersection of Valhallavägen/Lidingövägen.
For the Academy for classical music, composition, conducting and music theory, the Royal College of Music is now looking for an hourly paid tuba teacher. The employment covers less than 20% of full time during the academic year 2024/25.
Job duties
• Teaching tuba on the bachelor's and master's degree program in classical music
• Actively participate in working groups , e.g. entrance exams and other examination work
• Actively contribute to a good working environment.
• Collaborate within KMH and with the surrounding community.
Eligibility
To be eligible to be employed as an hourly paid teacher the applicant must have graduated from basic university education or have the equivalent skills, have experience as a performing musician at a high artistic level and has demonstrated pedagogical skill. Corresponding competence refers to professional activities that require good competence in the music field.
