National Supercomputer Centre (NSC) houses large-scale parallel computer systems and advanced computer graphics equipment for visualisation and virtual reality. We hold courses in the use of high-performance computing (HPC) resources, run a help desk and collaborate directly with R&D projects in the HPC field. Our aim is to provide Sweden’s most attractive environment for research in scientific fields that perform large-scale calculations and other e-science activities. The position
The EuroCC National Competence Centre Sweden (ENCCS) is looking for two HPC specialists with a background in natural sciences or data science/machine learning with employment at the National Supercomputer Center at Linköping University.
ENCCS is a national competence center in HPC, funded by the Swedish Research Council, Vinnova and the EuroHPC JU via the EuroCC project - a network of European national competence centers in HPC. ENCCS is hosted jointly by RISE and Linköping University. Read more: https://enccs.se
EuroHPC JU is a multi-billion Euro joint undertaking which enables participating countries to coordinate their efforts and share resources in order to build a world-class supercomputing infrastructure and a competitive innovation ecosystem in supercomputing technologies, applications, and skills in Europe. ENCCS provides a range of services tailored to the national needs of industry, academia, and public administration in Sweden. The aim is to support and further enhance national strengths in high-performance computing (HPC), high-performance data analytics (HPDA), and artificial intelligence (AI). The specific objectives of the Swedish node are to:
• Develop expertise, knowledge, and support in Sweden to help users make better use of EuroHPC resources.
• Assist key user communities in enabling applications on (pre)exa-scale resources.
• Advise users on how to achieve scaling and performance for scientific problems on EuroHPC resources.
• Guide new industrial users in using HPC.
• Support new AI/data analytics applications.
• Provide training and skill development nationally and throughout Europe.

The person we need
You must have a doctorate degree in computational natural sciences (e.g. fluid dynamics, material science, computational chemistry or biophysics) or data science/machine learning. You must also have:
• Strong experience in scientific software development for HPC systems.
• Experience with GPU programming.
• Excellent communication skills in English and (preferably) Swedish.
• Strong communication and team working skills.
• Teaching experience is a plus.

The workplace
The position is located at NSC, Linkoping University. You will be part of a team of eight people passionate about technology who share the ambition to be the best at developing and running high-performance computing services. You can also be involved in designing our future services in an organization with short decision paths.
The employment
Full time, 100%. A probationary period of 6 months may be applied.

Salary and employment benefits
The university applies individual salaries.
You may work remotely up to 40% of the time and we offer good terms for combining family and full-time work.
