We are looking for an HR Director to be part of the Swedish office and of a movement providing people with medical aid and humanitarian care. We need you with a warm heart and a strategic, analytical brain, you who truly enjoys teamwork and is genuinely interested in other people, their ideas and perspectives, you who leads by example and demonstrates understanding in behavior and communication, and you who has a good sense of humor.
Role overview
The HR Director is responsible for driving HR strategic developments within MSF Sweden in alignment with the overall objectives and ambitions of the international movement. Your responsibility is to build an efficient HR department, optimized to respond to the HR needs in our medical and humanitarian activities around the world, and in the Swedish office. You will do this with a solid project management approach and lead on change of new and continued projects, internally and externally.
Main responsibilities
Overall staff liability for the HR Department, consisting of 13 employees of which five are reporting directly to the HR Director, creating the prerequisites to achieve results and strategies.
Ensuring that MSF Sweden is a responsible employer through legal compliance within human resource practices, maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes within Human resource area and employment law. Work towards a positive, constructive, and safe work-environment and integrate the department as a service provider and strategic partner to the organization.
Taking joint responsibility for the delivery and strategic development of MSF Sweden together with General Director and the other members of the Management Team.
Providing support and guidance to the management and staff in re-organisations and on complex and sensitive issues.
Represent MSF Sweden actively in relevant platforms and meetings in Sweden and in the international MSF movement.
Representing the Employer in negotiations with the union club together with our HR Advisor.
We want you to have:
Strong commitment to humanitarian principles and values
Superior interpersonal, people-management and problem-solving skills
Relevant academic degree, preferably in Human Resources
Minimum 5 years of HR management experience (valuable if it includes leading other managers)
Familiar with Swedish labour law and a good understanding of the Swedish labour practices and regulations
Fluent in English, written and spoken
It is valuable if you have:
Swedish language skills
Experience with humanitarian organisation or other non-governmental organisation
Experience from being part of a coordination/management team
Experience in being spokesperson in media
Experience of working with DEI (Diversity, equity and inclusion)
Experience in change management and project management and leading a re-organisation

Employment terms and conditions
Type of contract: Permanent contract with 6 months’ probation period.
Entry date: As soon as possible
Work hours: Goal oriented working time (37,5 hours/week is full time)
Salary: 50 000 SEK/month. The salary is set according to the MSF Sweden Salary policy. Previous work experience, in addition to the years of requirement, (minimum 2 years) in the same or highly similar role will give an additional 2,5 % or max 5 % salary increase (depending on length of experience). This will be evaluated and calculated if shortlisted for interview. Previous MSF experience will give an additional 1,5 % of the base salary per year, (maximum 10 years)
Location: Stockholm, office in Liljeholmen. You will travel to meet international colleagues a few times per year.
Work Style: Hybrid: Home Office/In the office in Stockholm
Benefits: Pension, health insurance, life insurance, travel insurance, insurance for work related injuries, wellness contribution (2000 SEK/year) and one wellness hour per week.
Vacation: 32 days/year
Full salary day 1-14 of sick leave
