You will be part of Technology and Solutions Development for HVDC applications, within Hitachi Energy, in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used, among other things, to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.
The Valve Development Department is part of the Technology and Solutions Development office in Ludvika and is responsible for the development of new HVDC and SVC converter valves. HVDC converter valves are used to convert AC to DC, and vice versa, and are essential for HVDC power transmissions. SVC converter valves are used in SVC systems in order to support and stabilize AC systems. The Valve Development Department is focusing mainly on electrical and mechanical design, development activities and works in close collaboration with the global HVDC organization. You are welcome to join our energetic team with a mix of experienced and young engineers, and colleagues from diverse nationalities around the world. We work closely with design teams and collaborate with engineering and research teams in Sweden as well as abroad.
Your responsibilities
Facilitate proper use of the systems and tools
Participate in HSE FMEA and promote Design for safety methods and evaluation
Support in the safety-related design of new machines and machine acceptance after new installation or modification
Develop the culture of HSE within the team and find innovative ideas so that people absorb HSE behavior
Develop a sustainable safety culture by engaging the workforce in the hazard recognition process and providing clarification on HSE procedures
Carry out the Risk assessment in product development and plan to mitigate the same
Targeting and investigating HSE incidents (accidents, near misses, etc.), gathering feedback and communicating lessons learned and best practices to the business
Your background
University Degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or similar. Additional degree in HSE is preferable.
5+ years of Experience as HSE professional on Servicing, Manufacturing, Testing and energy related industries
Ability to communicate and influence widely varying audiences from senior managers to service engineers and machine operators
Fluency in English is a must, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Swedish will be an added advantage
