Who you are
We are looking for a purpose-lead leader for the Human Rights and Social Impact team. You will be a key player in delivering our purpose of balancing economic growth and positive social impact with environmental protection and regeneration.
To be successful in this role, you have:
· Advanced knowledge in how to lead and drive a business agenda in a highly complex business with cross-functional relations and interdependencies
· Excellent knowledge of how to balance and merge environmental, social, and economical aspects into the business with the purpose to generate growth within the limits of the planet
· Knowledge and experience in working with the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines on Multinational Enterprises.
· Up-to-date knowledge of the latest legislation, trends, and research on human rights and social impact and access to a strong external network on the topics.
· Strong collaboration skills, you seek collaboration cross-functionally to reach the highest possible impact and build strong and trustful relationships on different levels inside and outside IKEA.
· A proven track record of interdependent leadership skills – you can communicate a broad understanding of strategic goals and objectives and take action and collaborate across the business in order to achieve results through others
· Higher education in human rights law or similar, and experience working with human rights in a business context is preferred
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and facilitating Ingka Group’s human rights due diligence strategy and enabling integration into business processes. You will provide leadership in development, coordination, and integration of relevant sustainability activities, methods, and projects across Ingka to deliver the strategic People & Planet Positive ambition.
More specifically, you will:
· Work with the team to design, lead, and organize the human rights agenda within Ingka, across IKEA and with external partners
· Develop and perform human rights due diligence, in collaboration with business owners, as well as support with incidents raised in grievance processes.
· Develop, implement, and maintain guiding principles, policies, and business requirements for Human Rights & Social Impact, aligned and up to date with current legislation.
· Support in building awareness and knowledge of the business responsibility to respect human rights internally with business partners
· Identify challenges and opportunities in the area of Human Rights & Social Impact based on emerging topics, best practices, materiality, and impact.
· As a subject-matter expert, be an internal spokesperson for human rights topics
· Work across the People & Planet Positive strategy teams to identify areas for collaboration and simplification that cut across the entire People & Planet positive strategy.
This is a permanent position and location is Malmö, Sweden.
