Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is an independent foundation and a centre for international service and scientific research. Our priorities are the safety of patients and the safe and effective use of medicines in every part of the world. We meet these priorities by innovative research and development, and by providing data, reference, consultative and training resources to medicines regulatory agencies, health professionals, researchers and the pharmaceutical industry all over the world. UMC currently has approximately 100 employees, of which fifteen are managers.

This is a new position and you will be part of and have an impact on creating its content. As our HR Specialist you will work independently with a broad spectrum of HR related tasks and provide guidance and support within all HR related matters to managers and employees. Your focus is to support our managers to develop all staff and to attract and recruit the best possible talents. The role involves a mix of operational, administrative and strategic HR work.

HR is a part of the Finance & Core Service and you will report directly to our Chief Finance Officer.

Main accountabilities:

. Labour law, negotiation and co-determination process.
. Salary strategy, salary process and BESTA classification.
. Work policies - update, maintain and implement.
. Competence strategy, including development.
. Recruitment support and administration.
. Work environment and the employee survey.
Competence requirements

We are looking for someone with a few years' experience in wide HR activities, preferably from a larger HR department with:

. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area.
. Experience from participating in negotiation and/or co-determination process.
. Experience of 'hire and fire'.
. Solid skills in the Swedish language in oral and writing, and experience to express within labour law, applicable statutes, regulations, policies and rules.
. Fluent English skills, as we use English as our corporate language.

Personal attributes will be taken into account in the selection for this appointment. It is seen as positive if you have experience of work within an organization with employees from different cultures.

As HR Specialist you can work full- or part-time (not less than 70%). The position will be based at the UMC office in Uppsala. UMC follows the Agreements between Swedish Agency for Government Employers and Saco-S and ST.
