The department Electric Propulsion System Engineering -EPS within Powertrain, is
responsible for the development of all major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems. Sub-systems as Batteries, Electric Drives, Power supplies, Chargers etc are some of our responsibilities. Within Volvo Car Group we closely cooperate with product planning, other engineering units, purchasing, manufacturing and after-market. We also have deep cooperation with suppliers from all over the world as well as with academia and research organisations.

We are now looking for a HW designer for Charging and Power Conversion to strengthen our group High Voltage Power Supply. The position is responsible to develop and design automotive power electronics in the electric drive train. Some of the areas are performance, efficiency, EMC, electrical, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing and service requirements. In the role you will be leading the development forward in cooperation with other departments and suppliers.

Main responsibilities

* Requirement engineering from system requirements
* QA disciplines such as FMEAs, Robust Engineering, data driven issue resolution
* Develop Design Validation and Process Validation methods to secure test coverage
* Participate in test activities and follow up on supplier verification
* Lead Technical Design reviews, internal and supplier joint reviews
* Cost engineering and benchmark
* Report status and progress to the System Project Leader and to the group manager
* Occasional travelling to suppliers

Required qualifications

* University degree within engineering, B Sc or equivalent work experience
* Relevant experience relative to development of High Voltage Electronics Systems
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written
* Driving licence, B-level
* Experience in the automotive industry is meritorious
* Experience within Power Electronics is meritorious

* Structured, data driven and good documentation skills
* Integrity, courage and personal energy
* Business oriented and flexible
