Would you like to be a part of the revolutionary development of fossil-free steelmaking?
We are currently looking for a Technical Expert Direct Reduction to HYBRIT Development.
In 2016, SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall joined forces to create HYBRIT – an initiative that endeavours to revolutionize steelmaking. HYBRIT aims to replace coking coal, traditionally needed for ore-based steelmaking, with hydrogen. The result will be the world’s first fossil-free steelmaking technology, with virtually no carbon footprint. Read more at: www.hybritdevelopment.com
Position
As Technical Expert Direct Reduction you will be responsible for providing process engineering and operational support in the development of a direct reduction technology based on hydrogen. You will make recommendations on how to improve operational efficiency, quality, safety and environmental issues, which can include changes of operating practices as well as equipment upgrades and modifications. You will be part of projects and troubleshooting at plant.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Conduct a full range of process engineering and development activities
· Contribute actively to experimental trials, with evaluation of results, and simulation of chemical reactions, heat and mass processes
· Identify, develop, and implement process improvements
· Actively participate within the development team
· Coordinate with other colleagues and partners
· Share and document results
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience within a relevant position in a production or process development environment, preferably from working with iron and steel industry and/or direct reduction processes
· Metallurgical and/or chemical reaction process engineering competence and skills
· MSc in chemistry or metallurgy
· A strong action and operational focus to make things happen
· Excellent writing and communication in English
· Meritorious if experience in Six Sigma and working in international environment
Location
The position will be based in Luleå, northern part of Sweden. It is a local permanent position 100%.
