Hydraulics engineer

Would you like to contribute to this change, then join our fast-growing, highly competent and passionate team in Stockholm, Sweden. AlfaWall Oceanbird AB is a 50/50 joint venture, owned by Alfa Laval and Wallenius but operated as an independent company. We are developing wing sail technology for the global shipping market and are now looking for a Hydraulics engineer to our team based in Tumba, Stockholm.
What will you do?
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Be our technical expert within the field of hydraulics, supporting both our internal R&D process, but also our customer projects. You will work closely together with our mechanical, automation and sourcing teams.
- Define technical requirements, develop concepts and principal solutions and work close to our suppliers regarding technical deliveries, assuring safety, functionality and quality.
- Be responsible for testing and commissioning of our wing sail hydraulics systems, meaning that you will bring our system designs from concepts all the way to a delivered product!
- Support with regulatory submissions and documentation.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in hydraulics or mechanical engineering, or equivalent knowledge.
- At least 5 years working experience from designing hydraulics systems for heavy machinery.
- Experience in working cross-functionally together with automation, electrical and mechanical engineers ensuring complete system performance.
- Practical experience from hydraulic installation and / or test work.
- Working experience within the marine industry is beneficial.
- You are self-going and self-motivated.
- Strong team player, you thrive working together with other people and competences in reaching a common goal and contribute to sustainable shipping.
Some travel is to be expected.
This role is located in Tumba, Stockholm.
