IELTS Examiner

Folkuniversitetet offers a wide range of adult education courses throughout Sweden and internationally. We are an exam centre for internationally recognized language qualifications.


Folkuniversitetet and EDU in Copenhagen are recruiting IELTS examiners in the Öresund region. This presents an exciting opportunity for ESOL professionals to work in the world’s biggest and most dynamic English language assessment environment. We are looking for experienced ESOL professionals interested in training as examiners. Examiners will be based in either Copenhagen, Denmark or in Skåne, Sweden.

Applicants should commit to working regularly at one or more sites.

You will need:


• An undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.


• A recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or recognised equivalent as part of a recognised university award course.


• At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one year post-certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).


• The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.


The IELTS exam is held once a month and the work is paid on an hourly basis. Most examining takes place on Saturdays.
