Music Teacher, grades 4–9, IES Halmstad
WHERE TEACHERS CAN TEACH AND STUDENTS LEARN
Internationella Engelska Skolan Halmstad is now recruiting a music teacher to join our fantastic working environment. The position of teaching music for grades 4–9 (ages 10–15) is a full-time, substitute position for one year, and is to commence in August, 2022.
The school
Internationella Engelska Skolan is a truly international school. We have staff and students from all over the world contributing to a dynamic international atmosphere. Our schools are bilingual with up to 50% of teaching in English and follow the Swedish national curriculum.
IES Halmstad is a popular school for grades 4–9 (ages 10–15) with around 600 students and 70 staff members. It is a school where every student is seen and where you will have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. The school is located in Halmstad in the Swedish west coast area, with easy access to the town centre, and from here you can easily go to both Gothenburg and Copenhagen in just a few hours.
The position
We are looking for a teacher who, like us, believes in giving students the opportunity to realise their full potential, whatever their background. You must also be passionate about music and able to inspire your students. You have the tools to create a calm learning environment and can differentiate your teaching.
You will be joining an experienced and creative team and will have responsibility for your own planning in music. We work closely in our departments with subject development and cross curriculum themes, so we are looking for a creative team player wanting to be part of our collegial sharing approach for quality learning at our school.
As a music teacher you will also act as a mentor for a class.
We require:
- Current teaching license/registration with relevant higher education from outside of Sweden (TEFL/CELTA are not sufficient) or Swedish “lärarlegitimation”
- Fluency in English and/or Swedish
