IIOT - Edge Data Platform Architect

IIOT - Edge Data Platform Architect

Arbetsbeskrivning

At Seco Tools, our Enterprise Architecture & Digital Transformation Services team is ready to raise the digital bar! We’re securing the architectural foundation and driving innovation with digital technologies – enabling data driven change for both ourselves and the whole machining business. Going forward, our focus is to design, develop and assemble the best solutions for our inhouse manufacturing as well as our external business. Are you eager to join us? We’re now looking for an IIoT – Edge Data Platform Architect.

We offer you the chance to be a part of a new and highly professional team – right in the center of digital innovation, transformation and change. The location for this position is flexible preferably close to our main operations and technology sites; Fagersta (Sweden) or Troy (MI). Additional locations such as Stockholm or Arboga (Sweden) are also a possibility. Welcome to a global environment where innovation, teamwork and family spirit forms a winning combination!

Your mission
In this position, you work in various global, cross-functional teams to drive change which will have a large impact on our future by optimizing our digital platform. You design, develop and implement our IIoT/Edge data standards to meet the needs of our strategy to go beyond hardware in our machining business. In close collaboration with various stakeholders, you set the technical foundation for new, advanced digital offerings to our customers and you work towards an inhouse transformation of our manufacturing capability.

In order to do this, you manage our technology roadmap for IIoT or factory connectivity, and you engage with external forums and partners to leverage global standards and initiate collaborations. You also explore and evaluate what technical solutions we need to realize our business requirements – both when it comes to our current operations but also for building a strong digital future. You take action if any technology gaps are identified, and you collaborate with external partners and internal stakeholders to find solutions and a way forward.

Additionally, you actively engage in the development of both your own and the team’s knowledge and expertise to make sure we stay on top of our game. Supporting the planning of development activities, such as attending and hosting technology workshops, is also part of your scope and, as we’re a global organization, some international travel is a natural part of your job.

Your profile
We’re looking for someone with previous experience from IT/OT in a manufacturing industry, where your understanding of factory operations, such as production planning, execution and automation, are important factors for success. Leading transformation projects or program management in a global business is part of your track record. Naturally, you’re very skilled in IT/IIoT/OT equipment, architecture and engineering. Additional knowledge of solutions like OsiSoft or Microsoft Azure, as well as knowledge of Lean, Industry 4.0 or certificates within Solution Architecture. Further knowledge of communication protocols for obtaining data from machine tool controllers or machining in general, including modern CNC control systems are other beneficial skills.

If you have a relevant bachelor’s degree – like in Computer Engineering or Manufacturing - we see this as highly advantageous, but your knowledge of the area doesn’t have to come from a university education. We work in a global setting, which calls for advanced skills in English, both in speaking and in writing.

We highly value your personal traits! In you, we find a genuine teamplayer and an innovator who always have one eye on the latest development in the world of technology. A strategic mind lets you think several steps ahead and see how proposed changes could benefit or impact our business. You know how to turn complex problems and large amounts of data into actions, and as a goal-oriented and creative doer, you bring ideas and initiatives into real development. You’re also a role model for sharing best practices - encouraging an open environment where everyone can learn from each other and grow.
At Seco, we believe that diversity of experience, perspective and background leads to a better environment for our employees, our business and our customers. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
