Islamiska Kulturföreningen, ISKF (also known as Bengaliska moskén) is a Stockholm-based organization, which organizes religious services, religious learning services, social support services, etc. The services of the organization are based on a mosque located in Södermalm area.
ISKF is looking for a competent person to become the Imam/verksamhetsutvecklare for the organization.
The employment will be initially for 6 months and then extended as a permanent position based on the performance in the first 6 months.
Responsibilities:
· Primary responsibility will be to lead the religious services in the mosque (daily prayers, Friday prayers, regular Quran and hadith lecture sessions, etc)
· Running religious learning services for the members of the organization and also for the children from the community
· Lead/coordinate burial services when needed
· Support other social support related services, example – consultations, answering religious questions, etc
Qualifications:
· At least university level degree (Kamil degree or Dayra degree or bachelor or masters degree from any reputed Islamic institutions) in any of the Islamic discipline (such as Quran, Hadith, Islamic studies, Fiqh, Islamic History, etc)
· Strong background in Fiqh (ability to provide services to members with respect to religious questions)
· Strong speaking abilities, competence in handling youth and children
· Ability to engage the members in mosque activities
· Hafiz-ul-Quran will be given priority
· Having strong and melodious voice for recitation of Quran is required.
· Teaching experience in any Islamic institution is a plus.
· Proficiency in Bengali, Arabic and English are required.
