QRIOS Life Science are now looking for an Application Scientist with focus on assay development for our customer, a global company based in Uppsala. You will be involved in the development process, from idea generation and early proof of concept to development, verification and launch of new products.
This is a consultant assignment until end of 2022. For the right person, there could be an opportunity for employment with the customer.
About the position
In the role of Application Scientist, you will be involved in the entire development process, from idea generation and early proof of concept to development, verification and launch of new products. The products include consumables and kits for immunoassays, instruments and software with a focus on assay- and kit development for this particular role.
The work is conducted in project form and includes collaboration with other functions (such as manufacturing, quality control, marketing and sales) and requires good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
• Develop and optimize immunoassays for different types of analysis, sample types and assay formats
• Perform verification and validation of instruments, software, kits and applications
• Ensure product quality and perform technical support of existing products
• Act as an interface between application and instrument/hardware
Your profile
We believe that you have a Master's degree in engineering in a relevant field, preferably molecular biotechnology, technical biology, chemical engineering, or other education in biology/chemistry.
You have at least 3 years' experience of hands-on laboratory work and preferably previous experience in product development and optimization of immunoassays.
You possess a good biological understanding of immunoassays and you have the ability to work independently and take on a large degree of responsibility and commitment to the task.
You have good interpersonal skills and you express yourself well in both Swedish and English.
